Modular Housing Manufacturer

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter to join our team at a leading modular housing manufacturer. As a Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in constructing and assembling the structural components of our high-quality modular structures. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a controlled environment with innovative building techniques that contribute to sustainable and efficient housing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and join materials such as light gauge steel, wood, and other building materials.
  • Construct and assemble modular structures according to company standards and specifications.
  • Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, wall and roof sheathing, flooring, cabinetry and trim.
  • Ensure precision and accuracy in all work, maintaining high-quality craftsmanship.
  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
  • Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Work closely with other tradespeople, including electricians, carpenters, and designers, to ensure seamless integration of all components.
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks to identify and rectify any defects or issues.
  • Properly maintain and store all tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines and production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a carpenter, preferably in modular or prefabricated housing.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized apprenticeship program is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
  • Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (e.g., power saws, hammers, rulers, etc.).
  • Excellent understanding of carpentry materials, properties, and dimensions.
  • Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure precision in all tasks.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve construction issues effectively.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Reliability: Punctual and dependable with a strong work ethic.
  • Must have a valid state Driver’s License and personal vehicle insurance coverage
